SIEM REAP The Temples of Angkor await… The charm and variety of the temples gives us a glimpse into the regions fascinating history. We’ll explore the temples – Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom, The Bayon and of course the legendary, Ankgor Wat.

You’ll see a Cambodian Circus performance, enjoy a sunrise by the the main temple of Angkor followed by Breakfast. We’ll take a morning visit to the delightful “ladies temple”, Banteay Srei and enjoy an evening Cambodian taste around experience.

Our accommodation in SIem Reap is at Sala Lodges. Traditional Cambodian houses sourced in nearby villages that have been, dismantled, relocated and transformed into luxurious accommodation.

PHNOM PENH – NUI SAM – MEKONG DELTA – We will spend 3 nights in Phnom Penh at the eligant Raffles Le Royal, allowing us to experience the best the city has to offer. Spend 2 night at Nui Sam overlooking the rice paddies of both Vietnam and Cambodia. Concluding our southern Vietnam experience with 2 night on or private fleet of Sampans exploring the Mekong Delta.

SAIGON (HO CHI MINH CITY) From the moment you arrive in Saigon we have experiences especially crafted for you, to delight and surprise. We’ll overlook the city as the sunsets from the Mia Siagon Boutique resort and over the next few days visit the back-lanes of Saigon exploring the city like no-one else.

Enjoy a cultural performance showcasing Vietnamese life at the Saigon Opera House. We’ll taste the best of southern Vietnam in this part modern, part traditional city. Sampling Pho, Banh Xeo and enjoying an afternoon high tea. Embark on a hands on experience as you help purchase ingredients to cook your own lunch. We’ve planned dinners to tickle your taste buds and you’ll have your senses challenged at a unique dinner at Noir – dining in the dark.

YEN TU – We break our journey with a stay at Yen Tu, The Resorts 13th-century design sets the scene for nights stay at the Legacy Yen Tu M-Gallery. The hotel is at the foot of Yen Tu Mountain, opposite Yen Tu Village 

HA LONG BAY – LAN HA BAY Cruise around, and beyond, busy Ha Long Bay… to the serene and less visited Lan Ha Bay. Luxuriate with two nights aboard the exceptional Heritage Line traditional junk boat – Ylang.

26 September 2022 – Sala Lodges

On arrival in Siem Reap will be met by our guide, collect our temple passes and then take an orientation of Angkor Thom. Following our temple overview we will transfer to our rather special and unique accommodation – Sala Lodges for the next 3 nights. Our individual lodges were discovered in nearby Cambodian villages, dismantled, transported and restored to become our luxury accommodation. Each have their own individual history and architecture, some dating back to the late 1950’s. The exteriors have been conserved and the interiors reimagined Sala Lodges.

27 September 2022 – (Breakfast – Dinner) – Sala Lodges

An early start this morning for a Sunrise visit to the famous temple of Angkor Followed by Breakfast and a visit to the Bayon Temple with it’s many faces. We will head back into Siem Reap for some more sightseeing. You may elect to stay in down town Siem Reap for some shopping or head back to the hotel for some relaxation.

This evening we have an evening Khmer dine around experience.

28 September 2022 – (Breakfast – Dinner) – Sala Lodges

After breakfast at the hotel we will have a visit to Ta Prohm (Made famous in the Lara Croft movie). and also take a visit to Banteay Sri the intricately carved “Pink ladies Temple” and head back to either Siem Reap to shop or Sala Lodges, to relax after our morning of temples.

This evening we leave around 5 for an early dinner at nearby Spoon Restaurant, staffed by disadvantaged youths from the Siem Reap region before we watch Phare, the Cambodian Circus.

29 September 2022 – (Breakfast – light Dinner) – Raffles Le Royal – State room

This morning visit the floating village on Tonle Sap lake, we will travel back to the hotel with time to pack out bags and check just after lunch for the mid afternoon flight from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Our transfer from Phnom Penh Airport will bring us to the fabulous Raffles Le Royal.

30 September 2022 – Breakfast – Evening Street food snacks – Raffles Le Royal State room

We will leave the hotel mid morning for our exploration of downtown Phnom Penh. We have set aside the afternoon to luxuriate at Raffles before we take and late afternoon “Street food” tour around Phenom Penh followed by an evening cocktail.

01 October 2022 – Breakfast – Lunch – Highlight Raffles Dinner – Raffles Le Royal State room

Today we continue our exploration of not only Phenom Penh but the surrounding rural area including lunch in a local home. This afternoon time to again relax at Raffles and this evening we will partake in predinner drink before a fabulous dinner at Restaurant Le Royal.

02 October 2022 – Breakfast – Dinner – Nui Sam Lodge – Deluxe room

After check out at Raffles we will visit a cafe for morning tea and a chocolate treat before our journey via speed boat* from Phnom Penh. We stop to cross the border between Cambodia and Vietnam, (Visa included) and we will arrive to Chau Doc for a short transfer to our accommodation at Nui Sam Lodge late in the afternoon. (We will collect your laundry for your first included service) This evening we enjoy our first Vietnamese Dinner from our high vantage point at the lodge.

*Note the Vietnam and Cambodia governments have yet to re-establish the licences for the boat traffic for tourism between the two countries, we may have to travel between Phnom Penh and Nui Sam by private road transport.

03 October 2022 – Breakfast – Dinner – Nui Sam Lodge – Deluxe room

An early morning visit to the water reserve of Tra Su. Followed by a visit to the local village market. Time to relax by the pool before an afternoon to visit Chau Doc on the banks of the Mekong to take a boat trip to see the floating fish farms. We will take the opportunity to see sunset before dinner at Nui Sam.

04 October 2022 – Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner – Song Xanh Sampans

We to say goodbye to our fabulous view before we travel towards Can Tho, arriving at the Victoria hotel for a delicious lunch at the Senses restaurant. After lunch, the crew welcomes you on board our Song Xanh sampans with chilled towels and a refreshing drink as our small fleet of boats begin their leisurely cruise along the the rivers and tributaries .

Observe the endless boat traffic and the quiet but constant activity along the banks. Head ashore at Cai Von Town and stroll through an outdoor market as vendors trade in farming tools, fish traps, Chinese medicine, and fresh produce. Continue cruising on the narrow Tra On River, taking in the riverscapes of mangroves, coconut trees, and stilt houses. Towards sunset, join the larger Hau River, passing green islets as the sun sets on this branch of the Mekong River.

Enjoy dinner and then the sampans moor on the river for the evening.

05 October 2022 – Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner – Song Xanh Sampans

At about 6:30 am, set off early to arrive at the famous Cai Rang Floating Market at its peak. Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh’s navigate among dozens of local barges laden with rice and other products from the Delta. Continue upstream to Son Islet where a shore excursion awaits, visiting a herb farm and vegetable gardens. Walk along the island’s picturesque paths for close up views of country living.

Back on the sampan, lunch is served as the boat makes its way to Phong Hoa where we tour a colourful temple dedicated to Caodaism, a uniquely Vietnamese religion. Transfer to a row boat for a leisurely ride along small canals lined with water coconuts, one of the many scenic waterways that crisscross the Mekong Delta.

Return to the sampans and cruise to the charming town of Sa Dec. After dinner on board, settle down for your second night on the river.

06 October 2022 – Breakfast – lunch – Dinner – Mia Saigon – Deluxe Balcony Room

We begin cruising in the early morning hours, just as the villages begin to stir and children get ready for school. After a leisurely breakfast on board, step ashore to visit local cottage industries that utilize products from the Delta like rice and coconuts to make tasty snacks including puffed rice and chewy coconut candy. We disembark for lunch at Le Longanier.

We will transfer to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and onto our hotel on the banks of the Saigon River, for three nights at Mia Saigon luxury boutique hotel. Time to relax and take in the charms of this lovely riverside hotel,

In the early evening we’ll meet around 5.00 pm to make our way to the roof top on level 9 of our hotel for and evening drink in time to witness sunset over the river and enjoy dinner from our high vantage point.

07 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Lunch – High afternoon tea) – Mia Saigon – Deluxe Balcony Room

After breakfast we take a morning walk through Ben Tan Market, escorted by a chef from Hoa Tuc restaurant, who will also select ingredients for today’s lunch. Upstairs at Hoa Tuc, we begin a hands on cooking class to prepare our own Vietnamese lunch. With full bellies, we will rest a little at our hotel. (This afternoon we will collect your laundry today for the second included service) Later we’ll gather to indulge in high tea amongst the antiques at Villa Royale. After a hearty afternoon tea we will transfer to the Saigon Opera House, for the evening performance of the ‘AO’ show, combining acrobatics and music to tell the story of the history of Vietnamese culture.

08 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Lunch – Highlight Dinner ) – Mia Saigon – Deluxe Balcony Room

Today, we have a unique Travellers Hut guided culinary adventure, through the streets and back lanes of Saigon. We begin with morning coffee, or tea, in the “Bird Cafe”. Where the locals bring their birds in cages to chat to each other, while their owners do the same. Afterwards we visit a ‘pop up’ restaurant in a tiny laneway, for some delicious Pho with the locals.

We will visit the Temple of one thousand Buddha followed with a stroll through the local Saigon Flower market. Time to explore the Reunification Palace, made famous at the end of the Vietnam War. A stop to rest with a coffee or cooling drink before we head to Concluding our excursion, again in a Saigon back lane, we will be treated to enjoy a delicious Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Pancake) for lunch. We will conclude our tour in the centre of Saigon near the mall for some exploration.

The afternoon is free time, you may elect to spend some time in down town Saigon or come back to the hotel to rest to prepare for the sensory explosion that awaits us for dinner tonight. I believe you will be talking about our meal experience with your friends and family for years to come – Tonight we will depart the hotel at around 6.30 to experience – Noir – dining in the dark.

09 October 2022 – (Breakfast ) – Legacy Yen Tu – Deluxe Room

After breakfast will will leave the hotel around 7 for our transfer to Saigon airport for our flight to Hai Phong or Hanoi. We should arrive to the Legacy Yen Tu at around 2.30. We have set aside the afternoon to relax, we may wander around the precinct or visit the wellness centre, time will drift away today as you have free time on your own for dinner at the resort when ever you prefer.. At Yen Tu we begin the relaxation phase of our journey as tomorrow we take the short journey to Ha Long Marina for our 2 night relaxation cruise aboard Ylang.


10 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner) – Ylang

We will take the morning departure from our hotel at around 9.30 for a transfer Ha Long Marina to arrive around 11. Board a speed boat to rendezvous with Heritage Line’s luxurious Yalang for our 2 night Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay cruise.

11 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner) – Yalang

Today we will continue our cruise of Lan Ha Bay and take some onshore excusions to Cat Ba Island or take our a Kayak to explore the bay.

12 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Dinner) – Apricot Hotel – Canvas Room

This morning another opportunity for a swim, or paddle in a Kayak, in yet another secluded section of Lan Ha Bay. We will cruise again through Ha Long Bay before joining our speed boat to the Marina. Our road transfer to Hanoi should have us arrive by mid afternoon into Hanoi. For our last 2 nights in the capital, staying in Canvas rooms at The Apricot hotel across from Hoan Kiem lake in the heart of the old quarter of Hanoi.

We will muster in the foyer of the Apricot hotel at around 4.30 before heading to the Lotte tower for sunset drinks followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant – Ngon. I’ll take you to walk around the perimeter of the restaurant, you’ll see the amazing dishes being prepared for the evenings service, almost street style, so you can select from the vast choice for your evening meal. After dinner we will head to the Ho Chi Minh Quarter for the traditional evening ceremony.

13 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Snacks – Dinner) – Apricot Hotel – Canvas Room

Hanoi is patiently waiting for us this morning… After breakfast we will be met by a fleet of Vespa’s for our exploration of the bustling capital of Vietnam as our drivers navigate us around the city. We’ll stop along the way to see the sights and to hear stories of Hanoi’s history and also sample some tasty treats – with a few extra Travellers Hut chosen delicacies along the way.

Our afternoon is free to reflect on our exhilarating morning. But wait… If you would like, join Glenn for a taste sensation – Egg Coffee, hmmm I can hear the exclamations of wonder… Just think – liquid Tiramisu. After our tasting you might like to wander the shops in the old quarter of Hanoi.

Tonight we will enjoy dinner a French Vietnamese fusion restaurant close to our hotel.

14 October 2022 – (Breakfast – Farewell Lunch)

A relaxing morning in Hanoi or maybe do some last minute shopping. We will check out of our hotel at around 11.30 to transfer from the Apricot hotel to our private farewell lunch, before our early evening flight from Hanoi via Singapore to Sydney.

At the moment, due the poor performance of the Australia Dollar, there is a currency surcharge or $ 280 per person twin share and $ 320 single – in addition to the costs above.

Should the Australian dollar rally again the surcharge will be lifted.

Costs include – All transfers, touring, entry fees and accommodation, All Breakfasts, some lunches and most dinners where noted. porterage, tipping at meals and gratuities for our guides and services in Hanoi, Saigon, Siem Reap, Yen Tu, Chau Doc, Phnom Penh and on board our Sampans and Ylang.
